As we move closer to the grand finale, the competition is fiercer than ever with 12 phenomenal singers still vying for the Indian Idol 15 crown. Each contestant has brought something unique to the stage, making this season one of the most exciting yet! Let’s dive into their strengths and what might take them to the top.

In no particular order here goes our perspective on the vocalists…

🎶 1. Mayuri Saha
Known for her mesmerizing vocals, Mayuri effortlessly blends her strong vocal technique, making many of her performances unforgettable. Her rendition of Deewani Mastani from Bajirao Mastani was filled with emotion and soul. To sing in front of the OG singer Shreya Ghoshal took courage. And she pulled that song off in spades. Could she be the next Indian Idol? Listen and judge for yourself

🎶 2. Chaitanya Devadhe Mauli
With electrifying energy and a voice that commands attention, Chaitanya is a Mumbaiya fan favorite who knows how to bring the house down.  Chaitanya's live performance of Jee Karda from Badlapur was an exceptional rock performance changing the tempo mid-stream, moving to a softer scale then pumping back up to a thumping beat. THE best Rock performance of the entire season in our opinion.

🎶 3. Sneha Shankar
Sneha’s classical training shines through in every note, and her consistency makes her a very strong contender for the title. The variations she adds to the original song makes them feel new and refreshing to hear. Her ability to carry every note purely and with clarity is without par among all the current Idol singers. The soul and pain she delivered when singing Ankhiyon Ko Rahne Do from Bobby was exceptional. Any one going through heartbreak just has to listen to this one to bawl their heart out.

🎶 4. Subhajit Chakraborty
From soul-stirring ballads to foot-tapping hits, Subhajit has really grown this season in proving his versatility. His ability to mashup Bengali folks songs with Bollywood music is quite unique. He offers a sense of innocence with a freshness in his voice that connects directly with one's heart. The delicacy with which Subhajit sang Surili Akhiyon Wale in the theatre round left us floored and wanting more from this exceptionally talented vocalist.

🎶 5. Ranjini Sen Gupta
Ranjini is the epitome of innovation, delivering fresh and creative takes on beloved songs. What cant she do vocally? From the title song of Yaadein -- one of the most heartfelt versions we have ever heard -- to the rumbling vocals of O Meri Maina from Pyar Kiye Ja, the  vocal range and the gravitas she brings in singing extremely difficult songs sets her apart from all the other contestants. The underdog of this season. And who doesn't want to root for this amazing underdog?

🎶 6. Priyangshu Dutta
Priyangshu’s journey this season has been inspiring right from the get-go. The passion and heartache with which he sang O Bedardeya (from Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar) in the audition round was simply exquisite. One could tell here was a singer who had put in hours listening to Arijit Singh's version and then perfecting his own rendition of this soulful song. His ability to put that extra vocal depth makes him a performer to watch out for (in Idol and well beyond)!

🎶 7. Myscmme Bosu
With a voice that can melt even the toughest hearts, Myscmme’s emotional depth has earned her a loyal fanbase. A fighter who has beat the odds to arrive at this stage, her grit and perseverance give her that rare edge among all the others.  Her tonal quality is spectacular, her diction is immaculate, and the way she perfectly expresses the emotion in the song is outstanding. Her singing of Silsila Yeh Chahat Ka from Devdas an exceptionally difficult song to sing live on stage was simply magical.

 🎶 8. Manasi Ghosh
This powerhouse vocalist knows how to turn up the heat on stage, leaving everyone in awe of her vocal range and energy. With a monster-size stage presence, a swagger in every step, and a brimming confidence in her vocal abilities, this singer is in her element every time she steps up to sing. Her performance of Pehla Pehla Pyar from Kabir Singh put us at a loss of words. THE vocal find of the century that can take any song, in any genre, in any scale and make it her own. Watch her take off in the coming years!

🎶 9. Biswarup Banerjee
A rising star, Biswarup’s growth throughout the competition has been remarkable. His ability to belt out power-packed one after another has impressed all the judges. When he sang, Jaane Ja Dhoondta Phir Raha (a Kadak Chai favorite) hitting all the right notes, then moving to Pancham Da's gravely voice added that extra zing to this beautiful melodious number. A talent that is going to go places!

🎶 10. Ragini Shinde
They say big things come in little packages. The youngest contestant of this year at 15, Ragini has a sweetness in her voice granted by the gods. Her vocal maturity in singing Ja Re Ja O Harjaee from the movie Kalicharan came through in spades with playfulness, despair, anger, blame - each emotion present in the original song by Lataji rendered perfectly by Ragini. The future of Indian music is in good hands with talents like this young 'un!

🎶 11. Anirudh Suswaram
With raw talent and undeniable vocal charisma, Anirudh has proven he is a force to be reckoned with in the competition. His singing of Bin Tere from the movie “I Hate luv stories” was a power-house performance, one worthy of listening to over and over again. The song in of itself is a challenging to sing, and then to sing live, then to add the murkhiyans that he did…Only someone with full command of their vocal cords can do this, and it left us astounded!

🎶 12. Ritika Raj
The wildcard of the group, Ritika brings a freshness and a charm to every performance. With amazing throw in her voice and a rustic appeal, Ritika's voice is a stand-out when coupled with the right song. When the exceptional Amit Trivedi selected and asked her to sing Jhallah Wallah from the movie Ishaqzaade - that was a song which properly showcased her vocals and tonal quality. A singer with a lot of potential!
